Maybe, but what others forget is that we could well be rooted in the bottom half with someone else in charge.

It's far too easy to point the finger all the time yet we're currently only below six decent Premier League teams.

But your point sums up the point that I was making.

Brilliant man management by Koeman.

Not only have stoke and the yid cunts nicked their song, they lost a majority of their first team at the start of the season. Manager of the season if they finish top 6.

What you forget Pagey is that the points dropped recently could have been won if our manager hadn't revered to type and become Mr Respect the Point again, with crazy subs and that stubborn attitude.

The last manager was dismissed as a gamble at Southampton too.

Stoneman

Same thing was said when the last manager left and the one before him.

They are run well and they have a football philosophy that drives the managerial appointment and not the other way around and so the transitions are much smoother.

Koeman off to Barcelona before too long then we shall see what ensues at Southampton.

Much as I dislike the smug little twats at Southampton. you cant help but be impressed. What are they doing that we're not to be so defensively solid? Their squad on paper is no better than ours but they're so good defensively. Obviously its helpful that they've got a manager that wants to win games unlike the idiot Allardyce. Fair play to them and Koeman.

Had we a bit more ambition we'd be right up there now, its frustrating.

Re: Swansea v West Ham - Official Match Thread 1-1 FT
The reality is that with over half of the season gone we're up there with some excellent teams and there could be an argument to say that we should have a couple more points at lap east had we had the rub of the green on occasions.

Of course Allardyce has his faults but he's also played a part in us being where we are and Song has stated that Allardyce helped to sell the club to him. Without Song I doubt we'd be in the top half.

Southampton have had a brilliant season and it looks like they have a great manager in Koeman but it was still a gamble. Just a gamble that appears to have worked wonders.

Throughout the period that both ourselves and Southampton were neck a neck in the top four big Sam looked to manage expectation whilst Koeman said his team were capable of finishing very high.

I remember in the summer people laughing at Southamptons stupidity at going for a manager with no premier league experience and suggesting they were like to go down.

And yet people stil ask with disdain 'well who would you replace Sam with' as if there is nobody better about.

Honestly! Let's see how we do for the rest of the season before deciding what SA would do.

I'd love us to appoint a more progressive manager but our directors are more likely to appoint Neil Warnock as a progressive manager if they ever get rid of Sam....

Re: Swansea v West Ham - Official Match Thread 1-1 FT
I think as long as we are fairly consistent until the end of the season then a top 10 finish will be guaranteed.

Jaskelinen, Reid, Collins, O'Brien, Demel, Morrison & Cole are all out of contract at the end of the season while Jenkinson & Song's loan deals ends. So we have some big decisions to make for next season.

I think Collins deserves a new 2 year deal and Jenkinson & Song are both worth trying to buy but I would say the other 6 should be released to make room for better players (apart from Reid who is going of his own accord)

Assuming we did manage to sign both Jenkinson & Song I would think we would need another 4 players. A back up for Adrian, Another centre half, Wide midfielder & a 4th striker.

Nolan still has another year left on his contract and there is no way another club will take a player who will be 33 in the summer on 50k a week. Further bad news is that Maiga will probably be back next season as well because no one will want him.

In my book, Allardyce's attitude is completely unprofessional and I would have got the P45 ready after the Chelsea game if it was my firm.

Where did I say we wouldn't celebrate a victory at OT?

I just said it was a boring game with 1 shot on target. and some would moan about that.

Didn't say you did I??

Re: Swansea v West Ham - Official Match Thread 1-1 FT
It will be very interesting to see how ambitious our owners are. To be fair Sam has proved over many years that he can take an average squad and keep them in the premier league. This year he has shown that he hasn't got the balls and mentality required to consistently win games of football.

Will the owners employ a manager who has spent the majority of his career in lofty league positions and spend money on players in line with a projected turnover of 150 million. Or will they just concern themselves with a finish outside the bottom 3. It will be an interesting summer.

Oh please! We'd all celebrate a win at OT no matter how it was achieved.
Fair play to Southampton but then they are fortunate enough to have a manager who believes they're in the top 4 on merit, unlike our spineless fat oaf moaning about 'overachieving'.

NSD - You don't know everyone on here then. some would whinge trust me.

The game was awful, ok they defended well and scored from one big hoof up field. Man U were very poor.

I was bored.

Don't be silly. If our back 5 managed to limit any team to zero shots on target in a game we'd be ecstatic. Nevermind at Old Trafford.

In my dreams we start next season with a new manager having signed Reid, Song & Jenkinson to permanent deals and replaced Nolan & couple of others with the same quality of player we brought in last summer.
8th this season would be a major achievement

Was a good win but a pretty dogshit game tbh.

1 shot on target between both sides, if that was us involved peoples knickers on here would be well and truly wet.
